Fossils

EXHIBITION CLOSED SEPTEMBER 2012

Earth History Collection

With over 55,000 fossil specimens, the Earth History collection represents almost 600 million years of British Columbian plants and animals. The beautifully preserved remains of reptiles, fish, birds and mammals help experts deduce what life was like before, during and after dinosaurs dominated the animal kingdom.

The collection also contains turtles, bones and footprints of dinosaurs, a mammoth tusk, 50 million-year-old plant and insect fossils from the Kamloops area and samples of lake, bog and stratigraphic sections from the last ice ages (Pleistocene Epoch).
